Book Details
The Chronicles of Narnia is a seven-book fantasy series by C.S. Lewis, first published between 1950 and 1956. The series follows various children from our world who discover Narnia, a land with talking animals and mythical creatures, ruled by the lion Aslan. In 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', the four Pevensie siblings—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—enter Narnia and help Aslan defeat the White Witch, who has caused an eternal winter. This fulfills an old prophecy and starts a Golden Age. Later, in 'Prince Caspian', the Pevensies return to Narnia centuries after their rule to help Prince Caspian take back his throne from his uncle and restore Narnian freedom. Other books see Edmund and Lucy, with their cousin Eustace, sail to the edge of the world in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader', facing many islands and challenges. Eustace returns with his school friend Jill Pole in 'The Silver Chair' to find Prince Rilian, Caspian's lost son, deep within the Underland. The series ends with 'The Last Battle', where Eustace and Jill see Narnia's destruction and the final judgment. They then find the 'true' Narnia and Aslan's Country, where the faithful reunite with Aslan and the Pevensies (except Susan) for eternal life.
