In "The Brothers McKay," the twenty-second installment of Craig Johnson's Longmire series, Sheriff Walt Longmire investigates the murder of Pepper McKay, a notorious rancher found dead in Crazy Woman Canyon. The prime suspects are his four sons—each with distinct backgrounds and motives: a charismatic charmer, a worldly journalist, a reclusive monk, and a half-Native ranch hand who manages the family lodge. As Longmire delves into the family's complex dynamics, a second murder occurs, and a wildfire traps him in the canyon, intensifying the peril. This novel intertwines a murder mystery with a survival thriller, challenging Longmire's pursuit of justice amid escalating dangers.
